- I am committed to writing, researching and sharing my adventures, opinions and data about evolving staffing models with members of the HR profession, colleagues who share a passion for staffing, clients and friends.
I am passionate about how firms design and build staffing processes, the technology to enhance them and the systems to manage them.
Together with my business partner, Mark Mehler, I strive to observe and influence new and evolving models that aspire to world-class, measurable standards and satisfy every stakeholder.
I want to know more about the ‘playing fields’ where candidates and employers meet and I'm more than a little curious about how they treat one another: specifically how Job Seekers ‘game’ their next career move while Employers tout their latest opportunities.
I'm constantly on the lookout for stories about staffing challenges, benchmarks, and results as well as the people who live the stories they tell.

Are ERs used across the US Public Service, just out of interest? I assume that the employers using ERs in the US have an established policy, marketing / comms strategy to support it, some good incentives, and underlying technology. I would also assume that the ones with a strong employer brand (e.g. Google Inc) have the friends and colleagues of employees pleading to work at their workplace - reverse marketing. With the US hitting recession, your 2008/2009 results will be interesting.

- Welcome to the community Gerry. Are you planning any visits to New Zealand or surrounds soon? I will be visiting New York before the end of the year, so maybe we could meet up.
There's a current discussion in this group around employee referral programs (ERPs) in NZ and their mixed success here. In contrast, it is interesting to note the significance of ERPs in the US, as outlined in your source of hire studies.
