Recruitment Asia Pacific

“I’m an Independent Recruiter working in the Auckland area in the Construction Sector on Management level roles. I’m would like to get premises in Parnell or Auckland City toward the end of this year and I’m looking out for other Recruiters who are already working independently, or wish to do so, to share office space with. I envisage we would each be working under our own company names / banners and our association would be together purely to share premises - providing own furniture, equipment / contacts / clients etc.

We would all need to be working in different sectors of course so there’s no conflict of interest or overlap in clients - but we could perhaps collectively negotiate good advertising rates. One of the major benefits would be that that having other people in the office doing similar work can be more motivating than working alone. I believe there would be some synergy and spin off from working with like minded professionals – apart from the social side, which is important too.

Rents are quite cheap and plentiful at present and I believe if we had a group of interested recruiters we could look at what each of us require in terms of space / facilities and what is available currently.

So – if you are interested or know of anyone who you think would be I can say that going out on my own as an Independent Recruiter has been a very good decision from a financial point of view. Also, one of the greatest benefit was having control of decisions over which clients / areas were most suitable or enjoyable to work in - ie having independence.

If anyone thinks this could be of interest, could you email me on: jill@corgan.co.nz

Thanks

Jill

But back to the start of my day...

Great start... woke up without the sound of crying (I have young children... this is a perfect start of a day!)

Then... awesome breakfast provided by the #atcsyd guys (the…

Career Planning…. New Years Resolutions

For those who read my blog, you'll know I've recently changed jobs, and I've been pretty slack in posting here in the last year.  Some will say "again?" others have been congratulatory, I have to say it has been an interesting experience.  I'm 37 years old and I'm into my 5th professional job (not counting the moss farming, kitchen hand and service station attendant during University and high school).  Being the new boy again, facing those nerves of the unknown, will they like me? will I…

TRU Australia - Idea generation on crack

Last Friday, after two days of excellent workshops and presentations at the Australasian Talent Conference's annual Social Media event, I attended the inaugural The Recruiting Unconference (TRU) Australia in Melbourne. I shared a taxi to the TRU venue, the Royal Melbourne Hotel, with the founder and conference dis-organiser of TRU, Bill…
